Tony Allain PS, PSA, MC/IAPS, MPANZ
Award winning painter and instructor Tony has been painting for more than 40 years. A self-taught painter of colour, light and movement, with a complete understanding of his surroundings. Born and raised in the Channel Islands he moved to paint and live in Cornwall to capture and experience the clear light of the West Country.
Tony has exhibited extensively over the years, his work can be found in many leading galleries as well as private collections worldwide, including the Maritime Museum Guernsey. In 2004 received a commission for twelve paintings for the staterooms on board the “Queen Mary 2” the new cruise flag ship for the Cunard Line, The Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery. He has exhibited with the Pastel Society of America in New York and with the Royal Society of Marine Artists and The Pastel Society in London. A move to New Zealand in 2006 proved to be another turning point in his career with the acceptance into the Pastel Artists of New Zealand.
Tony is a member of the Pastel Society UK and sits on their council.
A Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America.
A member of the Master Circle with the International Association of Pastel Societies.
In 2012 Tony was elected to the status of Master Pastelist of the Pastels Artists of New Zealand
His work is regularly featured in The Artist and Leisure Painter, Practique des Arts and the Pastel Journal.
Tony now lives and works in West Cornwall, UK.
