Work-Shop Terms and Conditions.
To book your place on a workshop please call Val on 01223 833 064 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to ensure that there are still places available on your desired workshop.
At the point of booking you will be asked to provide your contact details, plus pay a non-refundable deposit of £25.00 for a one day workshop, or £50.00 for a two day workshop.
Payments can be made in any of the following ways:
- Credit or Debit card payment
- Cheque – make payable to The Old School Studio
- BACS direct bank transfer payment to Barclays:

- Cash (paid in person) at The Old School Studio
A receipt for your deposit will be issued via email or in person.
By registering your details with us online, over the phone or in person to book a place, you will automatically be added to our mailing list. Please specify at the time of booking if you would like to opt out of this arrangement.
2. Final Payment:
Final payment should be made no later than 21 days prior to the workshop start date. You will receive a written receipt for your final payment and confirmation of your place via email or in person. We will also send a reminder at least 21 days prior to the workshop with a list of materials that you need to bring with you on the day.
Non-payment of the final balance will mean that your space on the workshop is not confirmed and may be sold if the workshop is over-subscribed. Failure to attend a workshop will incur cancellation charges as shown in our Cancellation Policy below. Please make sure you are familiar with it.
3. Cancellation Policy:
If We Cancel
The Old School Studio reserves the right to cancel any workshop should it become necessary to do so. We will notify you as soon as possible and you may then transfer to another workshop if you wish, depending on availability. Deposits/balances will be refunded in full if you prefer to withdraw your booking. The Old School Studio is only liable for any monies you have paid to us at the time of cancellation

Written cancellations will be treated as follows
- Notice of cancellation received 21 days (or more) prior to workshop date, the deposit will be forfeit but the balance will be refunded provided this has been received by The Old School Studio
- Notice of cancellation received 8 – 20 days prior to workshop date, the deposit will be forfeit and provided the balance has been received by The Old School Studio, it will be refunded ONLY IF your place can be filled
- It is regretted that no refund can be made in respect of bookings cancelled 7 days (or less) prior to commencement of a workshop, nor can we issue a refund if you fail to attend the workshop without giving notice as listed in the terms above
- Failure to attend a workshop without giving notice as stipulated above will be treated the same as cancellations made 7 days (or less) prior to commencement of the workshop
If you are going to be absent from a workshop for reasons beyond your control (i.e. illness, or unexpected work commitments), please let The Old School Studio know as soon as possible, either via email firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 01223 833064 and we will try to accommodate you as much as possible
If we know you cannot make it to the workshop, we will try to sell your place in order to give you a refund. However, if we are not informed before the start of the workshop, refunds will not be offered.
Any waiver of the above cancellation terms will be at the sole discretion of the management of The Old School Studio.
Requests for a transfers from one workshop to another are not guaranteed, and will only be granted at the discretion of the Proprietor. Also please note that if a transfer is requested within 21 days of a workshop’s start date it may be treated as a cancellation. If, for reasons outside our control, a tutor is unable to attend a particular workshop, we reserve the right to provide a substitute tutor of similar standing.
5. Force Majeure:
Please note that The Old School Studio cannot accept liability or pay compensation where the performance or fulfilment of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by reason of circumstances amounting to ‘force majeure’.
Circumstances amounting to force majeure include any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid such as war, or threat of war, civil strife, riot, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, sickness, bad weather and acts of any Government or public authority and all similar events which are beyond our control.
6. On the Workshop:
Please bring a packed lunch with you as options for getting food offsite are limited. Your tutor(s) will agree with the group on the day what time and for how long the lunch-break will be (tea, coffee & biscuits are included in the cost of all workshops). For some workshops, you may be required to go offsite as part of the learning activities. Please make sure you bring something warm to wear and comfortable shoes if this is the case.
7. Minimum age requirement
We cannot accept bookings for anyone under age 12.
12 to 17 year olds are welcome to attend workshops at the OSS only if they are accompanied by an adult.
