Start Date: 29 April 2019
Time: 10:00am - 4:00pm
With: Prue van der Hoorn
All materials are provided
Back by popular demand, join Prue for this exciting Silk Painting workshop using a range of methods, including iron fix paints. You will learn how to use Gutta, salt effect, watercolour and shading techniques. Start by painting a silk card to get the feel for the paint and fabric, then practice a design using Gutta and salt techniques on a small panel. Follow this with a larger silk item such as a scarf or a panel for a cushion cover.
Who should attend?
This workshop is ideal for both beginners and those with some previous experience. If you’re interested in trying exciting arts and craft techniques, or already paint, but fancy trying something different, this is definitely or you!
All materials are provided, plus a selection of design books are made available to you for the day. However, if you have something you would particularly like to paint on silk, then please bring it along to the workshop.
On completion of the workshop you will have gained the confidence to challenge yourself with new ideas and different approaches to your paintings. You will also take home a beautiful silk scarf or cushion panel to impress your family and friends with!
Note: The studio will supply easels, drawing boards and water pots
Tea, coffee & biscuits supplied, but please bring a packed lunch
